Pedagogy Pro-Design and Climate Literacy: Teaching Methods and Research Approaches for Sustainable Architecture

There is a genuine concern that the current level of sustainability education provided in mainstream architectural curricula no longer sufficient to combat urgent climate challenges, and stronger interdisciplinary approach needs be followed where students are formed empowered with different pedagogical paradigm, better tools, diverse sets skills. This paper examines various approaches teaching learning environmental design principles practice focus on recurrent methods applied specialist UK. An in-depth analysis case study based eight-year experience Architecture Environmental Design MSc course at University Westminster presented reference identified literature. A reflective exercise specific adopted examples students’ outputs experiences allows critical evaluation study. The concludes by highlighting challenges opportunities introducing literacy postgraduate benefits adopting research-led collaborations industry partners.
